Seal to improve stain resistance; note that sealers do not stop acid etching – wipe up lemon, vinegar, wine, and other acidic spills promptly. Use chopping boards, coasters, and trivets. Reseal as needed (a simple water-drop test helps determine timing).

Care and maintenance: Treat like granite – use gentle cleaners and clean spills promptly. Sealing needs depend on porosity (some quartzites need little, others more); watch for darkening near sinks as a cue to reseal. True quartzite is hard, acid-resistant, and will not etch; ensure correct identification, as some stones are mislabelled.

Quartz (Engineered Stone) — Modern Durability

Avoid placing hot pots or pans directly on the surface; use trivets to prevent heat damage to the resin. For most brands, standard interior quartz is not recommended for outdoor use due to UV exposure; check manufacturer guidance if you are considering an outdoor-rated line.
